Acopia Networks

Network Storage Virtualization

After the sale of Arrowpoint to Cisco and helping to lead the content networking strategy there, Cheng Wu turned his attention to storage for his next venture. Acopia pioneered key elements of storage virtualization including a global namespace, single mount point, virtualization of network filers and automatic policy-based tiering. Arrowpoint veteran Chris Lynch helped lead the company as CEO and drove significant adoption in leading enterprise IT organizations before Acopia was acquired by F5 in 2007.
