Wing focuses on exclusively B2B or “enterprise” software companies across sectors—and we are generally biased toward products delivered via a product-led growth or “PLG” model, as well as Web3, crypto, and other decentralized projects. All our investments are powered by AI and machine learning and built on data. We also make investments into research-led bio projects that intersect with machine learning and data science.

Wing is solely focused on opportunities with the product depth and market size to build a multi-billion dollar, publicly-traded, independent company.

We have particular interest in applications that give operators super powers by leveraging the generative power of AI (like Gong, or Copy.ai) as well as “enabling” technologies of new ways to sell—customer engagement software, first party data mining and management, community-focused tooling, and others. We also have deep interest in enterprise security and infrastructure, data science, go-to-market tooling, dev tools, and creative tooling.

Wing is purpose-built for stealth pre-seeds, seeds, and early As. We generally follow on to subsequent rounds and will invest at pro-rata as long as we are able.

Wing does not have a minimum or maximum check size within our financing focuses. Our goal is to help you build financings that create the most leverage for the founding team with the greatest ability to easily raise downstream capital, and stack the bench with seasoned board members, senior operators, and angels.

Wing was founded by two ex-Sequoia and Accel investors who saw the gaps between larger institutional funds and early-stage opportunities. They believe that early, thoughtful interaction and hands-on support side-by-side with founders in the earliest days, when the real make-or-break decisions are being made, data is not reliable, and time horizons are days instead of quarters is a better way to work with early-stage founders. 

This ethos informs how we work with founders until today—and we’ve staffed Wing with investors who have deep personal operating experience, or are former founders themselves, as well as platform partners who have come out of senior positions at top tech companies. 

Both of these resources are made available to founders at Wing. If you are a Wing company, you get access to the whole stable of Wing resources across all partners, not only individual investors/board members or individual platform resources.

We look for folks with deep subject matter expertise within the problem set a startup is solving for, which generally looks like an “origin story” of solving their problem inside a bigger company, or, not being able to solve it and spinning off to solve it for others. 

We look for strong product and technical leadership, experience at other notable software companies of the time, and clear vision for success. Beyond that, a “learning mindset” and willingness to collaborate is equally important to specific experience. 

We also seek founders who want to build a publicly-traded, independent company. We aren’t interested in quick flips or acqui-hires.

We also have deep relationships with the most senior leadership at Fortune 100 enterprises, which uniquely positions Wing to help founders crack both self-service growth and enterprise business development.
