We are thrilled to announce Sam Parker as our new partner for market development. Sam will lead a core element of Wing’s Founder Success Platform by building Wing’s network of technology leaders and connecting them with Wing portfolio companies as advisors, customers, and partners. He’ll also work directly with portfolio companies on their go-to-market efforts.
Sam’s engineering background gives him a unique approach to network building. Scaling big networks requires a systems thinker, and Sam brings that to the team in spades, while also taking a customer- and client-first approach to everything he does.
Coincidentally, Sam grew up not far from Wing’s offices in Menlo Park. He earned his bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering with a focus on robotics at MIT, and went on to join Apple as a product design engineer. In his three years on the audio products team, Sam helped develop the first-generation models of the AirPods and AirPods Pro, and is named on several patents across those and other products.
He then received his MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business, and joined Bain & Company in San Francisco after graduating. At Bain, he focused on tech strategy and growth equity investment diligence.
Sam will bring a two-fold approach to network-building between prospective customers and Wing’s portfolio companies. At Bain, he developed a customer-first mindset, and has a deep understanding of the client perspective. At Wing, he’ll continue to cultivate that, developing a deep understanding and affinity for the technology driven companies and leaders in our network and pairing that knowledge with his hands-on work with Wing startups to ensure both parties find a phenomenal fit.
We can’t wait to see how Sam will grow and strengthen the broader Wing network, and help Wing portfolio companies develop the critical, longterm, relevant relationships that will shape their businesses for years to come. Welcome to Wing, Sam!
